Brad, pricing depends on the area you live in.Also are you gaining sought after trapping rights by doing this.?
Prices vary widely some trappers charge a set up fee, this can range from $50.00 to $150.00 or more. Then a per beaver charge is recieved for each beaver caught.
In wealthy areas I would not hesitate to charge $100.00 per beaver> I have farmers that I charge nothing to do their beaver work, but then I have the complete run of their farm .I can hunt andd trap these farms as I wish.
Use some common sense in what you charge, but do not sell yourself short. Many times I get calls from people who expect me to trap their beaver for nothing, when I ask them if they work for nothing the reply is always the same-of course not.I ask them why they expect me to work for FREE.A professional, no matter what line of work--should be paid well for his services--Good luck.  TOM
If you need trapping supplies---call ,E-mail , or PM me . Home of Tom Olson's Mound Master Beaver Lures  ,Blackies Blend--lures and baits.Snare supplies,Dye ,dip, wax,Large assortment of gloves and Choppers-at very good prices.Hardware, snares, cable restraints and more!Give me a call(651) 436-2539
I now also carry --- The WIEBE line of Knives and their new 8 and 12 inch fleshing Knives.

First off,I am not an "ADC" trapper. Its just that I cannot possibly cover more country than I do during fur season, and people still have beaver/coyote problems.
I don't know what your level of experience is,take that into consideration when you set your price.I base my price on being able to COMPLETE the job.
A four acre pond is very manageable, but if you are talking about a thousand acre flowage,I wouldn't do a whole lot of suggesting getting out every last beaver.
I prefer to "crop" beaver, but a lot of landowners(with all kinds of new "lakefront property)LMAO,just want them GONE.
Like Bog said,if this pond is a gate to other trapping,or even a means to get your name out;thus scuring other property, take it into consideration when setting your price.
If you are just getting started in ADC,you are better off starting low while your learning curve catches up,if you come in high-dollar and don't satisfy the client, your name will spread like a bad rash, with about as much enthusiasm.

Welcome to the forum!   :D

I can't help you with specifics on beaver, but I'd second ole Boggy's advice...charge them to set and reach a price per head.  If you can get your foot in the door for good future access size things up and work with them..."there's more than one way to skin a cat but cha gotta be able to catch him first".

Thanks for the input guys.

I went and looked the situation over and decidec since the pond was within city limits and the owner is a well to do business man, I would charge more than I would a farmer where I could get future trapping rights.
I charged $50 to set up and $40 per beaver.
He had no problem with the cost and even ask me to trap some groundhogs also. $30
The first day I caught one groundhog and one beaver. The beaver was 48" long from nose to the end of the tail.
Again thanks for the help.

Brad B,

Depending on your area, you charge what you feel what "your Time" is worth.
For myself I dont do any beaver work for less than 250.00 per beaver and do a plenty.

Dont underestimate what people will pay. They have the problem and need it taken care of.

Good luck.
