New to muzzleloading
« on: November 11, 2008, 07:26:02 PM »
Hello everyone.  I am looking at the Knight Shadow as my first muzzleloader.  Does anyone have one and if so what do you think? Thank you to all!

I don't have a Knight shadow nor know anything about it. Get something reasonably priced and some accessories and get out there.  Thats the best way to get started.
Though taken from established manufacturers' sources and presumed to be safe please do not use any load that I have posted. Please reference Hogdon, Lyman, Speer and others as a source of data for your own use.

I agree, you are going to need: A Powder flask(unless you want to shoot pellets), powder measure, A short ball starter, capper, nipple wrench, patch worm and bullet puller and a jag plus the tools your new ML will come with. Don't forget these things, theres nothing worse than being in the field and finding out you need a nipple wrench or a patch worm and you don't have one.

I went to the range today to sight in my new scope for my .223 and a very nice man was there shooting his thompson center muzzleloader.  He ran me through everything and showed me how its done. I am very excited to get a muzzleloader now.  Thanx for all your help guys.

Some Walmarts have the Thompson Center OMEGA Z5 Premium Pack for $184, it was $298

Besides the rifle you get the Extended Super Jag, Breech plug wrench, Composite T-handle, Bottle of #13 bore cleaner, Natural Lube, Cleaning Patches, Super Lube grease, Flex Loader, 10 Shockwave bullets, and the World of Muzzleloading DVD.
