trying to find out more about this handgun

its a 25 auto this is what i found on the gun itself ,brevete s.g.d.g.,st.etiennei hope some one can give more info on or put me in the right direction thank

'st.etiennei' would seem to indicate that it's of French manufacture.  You might try posting a query on the following

It sounds like one of any number of French made 25 autos which were popular in France and Europe before WWII.  I believe St. Entienne is also the French city where Mustard Gas was first developed. Mikey.

Or see if you can find it on this website. I found a .25 on here that sounded like what you are describing but it is hard to say without a picture of it. There are pictures on this website.
