My late uncle had bought one for his first wife and it was highly reliable. In fact I don't think it ever had a problem but it was highly inaccurate at more than a few yards.

I bought one for my wife a month ago, she loves it, but she had 2 failure to fire mishaps the first 50 rounds of CCI mini mags, they both fired after rotating (without removal). My friend (gun dealer) called Taurus about firing pin problems, but they told him this (new) gun did not have a firing pin problems. go figure..........other than that she loves it. and it's nice with pearl handles and gold accessories.    Jim   <><

I had one for several years and never had a problem after I polished the feed ramp real good. I liked it a lot better than the Beretta I had. Wouldn't think it is a firing pin problem if the rounds went off after rotating. Depending on the ammo, the primer is just not distributed around the casing very well.

I had one also and loved it.  It was very reliable, I never had a problem with it.  And although not the easiest gun to shoot for precision, I could reliably hit soda cans at 25 yds with it much to the amazement of my friends.  If you like it, buy it, I'm sure you will enjoy it.  44 Man

I've got the Beretta with the tip up bbl. It works ok as long as I use high velocity ammo, but it doesn't like the cheaper stuff. I would probably have gone with the Tarus but my dealer didn't have one at the time I bought mine.

I saw on another fourm that CCI mini mags, and cold weather may be a problem, it wasn't cold when we had the ftf, (Taurus pt 22 tip up barrel) so I recleaned and lubed the firing pin tunnel, will probably use only CCI stingers, from now on. Rather than take a chance. Have had no trouble with Stingers. Jim   <><

I had a PT22 for several years.  It worked great with Federal bulk box hp from Walmart.  Only cons were its mag had a stiff spring that made loading it a bit of a pain and the long, stiff trigger pull took some getting used to.  Overall, it was an OK plinking pistol.  I eventually traded it for a Taurus 38 Ultralite - a great gun which my daughter still has and uses for plinking and personal protection.
