Still time to vote for your favorite calendar picture.

As soon as the poll closes I will tally the votes and the top 13 picture owners wil be contacted for a full size copy of their winning photo.  When I have all 13 photo's I will send them to Matt and he will put the calendar together. The Top vote getter gets the Cover Spot

The 2009 Cannon calendar is available at the GBO EStore in the GBO BPM&C department. http://www.cafepress.com/gbollc/2319361. Proceeds from sales goes to support GBO forums.

THE VOTING IS FIXED. Yes I am a politician and I want a recount. I think the people in Florida are punching the wrong holes. But they sure do great at bingo. The picture with the little doggie is the one. And I demand it or I will throw a temper tantrum. And drag everyone to see judge Judy. Thats after I am done on the Jerry Springer show. Well I do own one of them Cat bulldozers and my neighbor didn't let me have my way lol

Last year I had a hard time selecting only 13. This year I had to go thru several times to find perhaps a half dozen to vote for. Just not the kinda cannons I like to see but then I'm really not much of a cannon guy anyway.

No I actually own more cannons than I do TCs. I own no TCs at all but do own a cannon. It's just that the type that seem to be predominate this time just aren't the type I enjoy seeing. Mortars specifically just do nothing for me even tho I realize they are popular with folks here they just aren't with me.

I actually prefer to see wheeled types more representative of what was in common use in the civil war era. Last time there were a lot of images of cannons more representative of what I like.

As a for instance the cannon on the SSK Industries banner is of the sort I prefer.

I'd like to have several small scale versions of them that would fit on the shelves in the living room to add to my small collection. I'm not really into shooting them and shelf size would be best for me.

Field guns, huh.  Well we do have a lot of mortars and Naval guns.  The tube construction for the guns are isn't that difficult, trunnions holes being the most difficult part of that build.  I wish some one would come up witha tutorial on how to do Trinnions hole on a drill press.

Field gun carriages aren't difficult to build untill you get wheels.  I think that is what puts people off building field guns.

I'm not into cannons enough really to even know they were called field guns. I just know what pleases me when I look at them and what doesn't. I don't build them and don't expect I ever will. I don't even care if what I have are funtional or can be fired even with no ball as none of mine would ever be fired.

Has anybody ever seen the Twilight episode "It a good Life" With Billy mumy season 3, episode 73? That is how far I am able to go to get my way.
I might make some "off the wall posts" But seriously my passion is reloading. In some of the calibers I load the difference between the starting load and max load can only be 1/2 grain. So I am not a  type of person of "lets see how much powder  I can put into this cannon for maximum effect. That is total stupidty.
Greybeard I do like your quote. Especially the second paragraph "I am not a lawyer and do not give legal advice.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life anyone who believes in Him will have everlasting life!" I am keeping that quote.

Poll has been fixed now.... :o :o

not as in rigged but as in the thumbnails of the images will now take you to the larger version of the pic...

DD here was were the code was wrong:
Code: [Select]
49 [url="http://www.fototime.com/pictinv/C60762493040C46"][img]http://www.fototime.com/C60762493040C46/medium.jpg[/img][/url]

49 [url=http://www.fototime.com/pictinv/C60762493040C46][img]http://www.fototime.com/C60762493040C46/medium.jpg[/img][/url]

for some reason if double quotes are used in the url tag it adds a www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php to the beginning of the url... not sure if it is a bug or if it is supposed to do it but I removed the quotes and the links in each thumbnail works now... enjoy...

Thanks, I was just using thumbnails links copied from my hosting site for the poll.  The quotes are defaults built into the code generated by the host sight software.

Ray

This almost sounds like the new "union voting" where there are no secret ballots................

Oh sorry my mistake it's still an old fashioned secret ballot! hence the old fashioned vailed threats!  ;D

yeah the doggie is cute.......... I don't remember if I voted for it or not  ::)

Truthfully that dog is on a cover of a calendar.  I did find out that if you crank up the old catepillar in front of someones house you do get their vote. And the threats of voodoo and judge Judy works. But apparently not in this forum. Besides I bet a majority of the people in this forum possess a firearm and considering this forum something larger that.  And I don't want no holes in my cat or me neither.

Ray,

;D  Yeah I'd hate to see your cat with a tight group of 3" holes in it! Or if it were Cannonmn he'd just drop a 9" Spanish mortar ball on top of it.......   ::) All in good fun!
