Anyone here use moly dust or similar coatings on swaged bullets?  

  I'm wondering about costs and practicality.    I'm thinking of using a wax/moly dust coating on my lead bullets to use in a muzzleloader to allow for higher speeds using a base guard bullet.

Any thoughts?   Suppliers?  Thanks!

I was advised that I'd still need a lube on cast bullets that were molied for a gas seal.This has proven to be true so far,but I am trying for higher than normal velocities with my loads.
   Have you considered dusting them then using TEFLON plumbers tape on them?  jh

Nope, can't say as if I have.    I was planning on using a very good lube a freind of mine was supplying.  

The reason I want to perfect this is that I have a few drawing on the table of more streamline bullets for the .45 caliber muzzies incorporating a gas check of my desighn.  

 If I can come up with a bullet that won't strip out or lead up a barrel at a bit higher speed then this idea will work great.   Might even be marketable :roll:   or, not.    Either way....I'm working on it.
