Did I see it correctly that the gunner ran in front of the "lit" cannon?

Yes, he sure did, but I've watched so much ignorant and dangerous stuff via that venue that I guess nothing shocks me anymore.  You see this proves that Americans do not have a monopoly on STUPIDITY!!

Cannonmn, you ARE the exception to this type of behavior,

Mike and Tracy

Smokin' my pipe on the mountings, sniffin' the mornin'-cool,
I walks in my old brown gaiters along o' my old brown mule,
With seventy gunners be'ind me, an' never a beggar forgets
It's only the pick of the Army that handles the dear little pets - 'Tss! 'Tss!

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, obviously.

Can't really tell much about the 'cannon' due to the distance, poor focus, and shakiness (ever hear of a tripod, kid?).

Looks to me like a disaster waiting to happen.

I wonder if the recoil was due to wadding or a projectile.  If it was a projectile fired at the high angle shown in the clip I have to wonder where it came down.

Maybe the Kremlin?  Anyone recognize the language for a location?

The language sounds like Russian.  You can hear them saying "da" (yes) a few times.

Sure looks like it. I have to wonder about why that one guy requires a wheelchair...

No he didn't run in front of the lit cannon, he did run in front of the load cannon.  It's electrically frired. Watch the flic again and you will see the wire running back to the cameramans postiopn

I think they are Serbian or at least from the Balkans.

Well I think it's Russian, Serbian or Balkans too.  I recognized a Russian word there.  Yoy!   Not sure if that's how it's spelled but that's how it sounds.

Maybe, but look closely at 0:45. The "wire" appears to be pulled taught, and there is a pop like a cap firing before the thing goes off.

I think these people watched that old hollywood westren were the army goes into Mexico half the men are ex Confederates......

there is a scene where they take out a door of an adobe house where the Mexican troops are hold up

with a little mountian gun....... Hollywood had that thing jumping about as much.........

with this modern rendition at least it held together and nobody got killed  :o
Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!
