Value of 45 cal ML
« on: November 15, 2008, 04:34:21 PM »
Is there any market for the .45 cal ML barrel and forearm.  I have a good offer to trade for an Encore that has the .45.  I already have a .50 cal so I do not need it.  I would like to get a second encore and put a rifle barrel on.

I sold that same barrel one a year ago or so on Ebay for $180.  You could offer it over on the encore contender for sale page or put it on gunbroker.com.  Since you will get the 45 barrel on a frame, less hassle and no messing around with shipping to FFL dealers, I would first offer the 45 barrel here as a trade for whatever caliber you are looking for.  The 45 is a sweet barrel.  Thompson made them then discontinued them and I think is offering them again.  Good luck.

I sis realize that they discountinued the 45.  Checked the website anbd did not see that they offered it anynore.  The guy want $440 for the gun and I think I can get it for 400 cash.  Stainless with camo stock.

This is not the case unless it is a face to face deal.
The encore frame no matter how it is sold is considered a modern firearm. and if it is being shipped any place it has to go to an FFl.

If you can get it for 400, that sounds like a good deal.  You can take your time moving the barrel if you wanted.  I don't know why TC stopped with the 45s.  Have a Contender 45 and I love it!
