« on: November 16, 2008, 03:02:47 PM »
Hey fellas,

I am normally on the NEF forums but had a question I thought you could help me with. While hunting I came across some tracks. Could be dog tracks or maybe wolf?
Those are my size 11 shoes
Waddya think? I can email a better more detailed picture (had to resize it to post it)

OK I will take a shot even thou I have not seen a Wolf track My guess it is a Black Lab ,because the track is to square, coyotes have a more elongated track with a couple fingernail imprints, this has all four toe imprints, and I am guessing a wolf would be a somewhat longer version of a coyote track.

Have had several wolf tracks in my castor mounds,I think your tracks are that of a dog.

I have not seen a lot of wolf track myself. But the track I have seen that I'm most sure were wolf tracks. They tended to run in a line like fox and coyote tracks. By that I mean hind foot stepping into front foot track. I maybe wrong too as I have never been out with and experienced wolf tracker. Just what I've notice about wild K9 vs so called domestics.

some can identify a track and tel lyou if its male or female or left footed or right footed--------

or elongated or round or oval or square....

but it all comes down to this- they all look darn near alike, and in mud or sand or snow or dust or ? they about look alike -

bottom line- should there be dogs there? if not-
