As some of you know, Indiana passed a pistol caliber rifle season, for Indiana, last year. After returning from Africa, I decided to buy a Marlin 1894, .44 mag and give up the shotgun I had used for the last 17 yrs. I put a fixed power 4x leupold on board. Tried the new LE ammo, and liked the way it shot. Here is some pics of my 2 does, and the buck I took. The buck is no trophy, I had a brain fart, and thought he was a lot bigger than he turned out to be....its a long story

Loved the LE ammo. It ain't Africa, but my son and I had a great time. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Great deer! There are a lot of us hoosiers out there with 44mag rifles. Those guns are great! Everyone I've talked with that used one had nothing but good things to say about it.

Congratulations, on both the deer, and the rifle selection! If Ohio ever gets on board allowing rifles using handgun cartridges, your rifle, will be the very same one I'll use for the rest of my hunting days!

Congratulations! It looks like there may be a bunch of hoosier firsts with the 1894 Marlin .44's, here is mine taken in November of 2008

I think both you guys pick really nice rifles in those Marlins.

What does that little deer you shot weigh. His rack may not be trophy class because of the odd side, but he has some great body mass. My Marlin in .44 mag
has taken a number of deer and hogs. I carried it when I was in LE for 11 years. I replaced the hammer block safety and have never had a bit of problem with it.

He was about 165 lbs., field dressed. I've shot better in both weight and rack size....oh well.....he eats good
