Winchester model 7o, 30-06
« on: November 23, 2008, 09:21:05 AM »
Hi guys/gals
My son has a Winchester '06...I am guessing about a 10 - 15 yr old model.
It was originally a top load only, but we found a bottom spring loaded release modification to remove shells faster.

Question??? is this model convertable to a bottom clip??
Thanke people

Bill

I suppose if you have enough money anything is possible but to the best of my knowledge Winchester never offered a clip type magazine for the M70 so it would need to be fabricated by a smith or someone knowledgeable in such matters. My suggestion is to forget that idea.

Bill,

Winchester made a DBM (detachable box magazine) model in the mid 90's that would work for you.  You would have to replace the stock and bottom metal.  The difficult part is to find a stock and bottom metal as well as magazines.

If your son wants a bolt action with a magazine (i also prefer magazines, they are more convenient to unload and load without dropping cartridges), i higly recommend the Tikka T3.
