Don't be surprised or disapointed with initial results being so-so. A lot of barrels don't shoot their best untill a hundred or so shots have been fired thru them. Usually I get a couple boxes of factory loads having each commonly found bullet weight. This will usually give you an indication of the weight range the rifle likes, along with starting the breaking in of the barrel. I also clean the barrel, then fire 5 rounds and clean it again before doing any serious group shooting with a new barrel. My 7x57 was a real picky rifle at first, now that it is well broken in it seems to shoot everything very well.
