I used to drink Black and Tans and hated the black part.  Found out that Bass or Harp was the tan and have been drinking them since.

I went the opposite way. My drink of choice is guiness. And it doesn't have to be cold.

actually, my dad worked with two women that were not very attractive.   on the weekends, they would buy a few cases of beer and head to the nearest military base, cruise the firelanes looking for g.i.'s out in the field.   they used to call it g.i. hunting.  dad used to laugh pretty hard about it.

Why do you have to wait till next year to have a few beers?

Alcohol is something that I never really needed to enjoy life. It's not that I HAVE TO WAIT, it's just that, that is about my annual alcohol consumption habit.
I spent years watching alcohol make fools out of otherwise reasonably intelligent folks, and I have little or no patience with a drunk. Just the way I is.

OK I just fell in love with alcohol!  I'm still don't think I could ever be a beer drinker, but my Grandfather just shared some of his Homemade Muskadine Wine! YUMMY!  :D

30-30man (by the way so am I) you just triggered a memory on that Old Milwaukee. Back years ago you could buy that beer for a dollar a six pack cause no one wanted it.
A friend of mine talked me into going to Oklahoma with him in the dead of winter to roof a new house on a cleared off mountain top.
When we got there it started sleeting, and we had to give it up. We built a fire out of scrape lumber (and some not so scrap) and I watched that guy stuff a half a package of Redman chewing tobacco into both cheeks, then he dumped a half a glass of Garrett's sweet snuff in on top of that. After he got all that situated he rolled himself a Prince Albert cigarette, and with all that going drank almost a half case of Old Milwaukee. I just sat there in amazement and drank a Coors and sipped on a bottle of Gentleman Jack Daniels. I know it sounds wild, but I swear he used to do that all the time, and he never spit. I haven't seen him in over 30 years, and if I heard he was dead, it wouldn't surprise me. LOL

I'm not much of a drinker, but when I do I usually go for a Budweiser.  Did that because they're the home-town brand.  Now they're not the home-town brand anymore.  That's alright though, I like Pabst Blue Ribbon and I hear good things about Sam Adams.

I bought a truck that was made 5 miles down the road, drank beer that was brewed 30 miles away...... now the truck plant is shut down and the brewery is owned by the Belgians.... just can't win for loosin' can I?  At least I dun my part.

I'd have to agree about Guiness, I start with a cold one, after that I don't care. Of course, I've never turned down a free one, except Pearl Light.

If there could only be one - I'd stick with the old standby (by volume, for me) - Budweiser.  I also enjoy Grolsch frequently - mostly on special occasions and holidays.  In Luxembourg, I enjoy Bofferding, but it is not imported here and I wish it were.
Special mention: Heineken, Shiner Bock, Hacker-Schorr Weisse, Moosehead.

I love beer. I've found very few that were undrinkable in over 40 years of diligent searching.

Dee,
When I was in college in Western PA we drank Iron City and Iron City light.  Holly crap was it bad.  After a while we started to like it and even Bud tasted funny.  But my point is that it was even cheaper than Old Swill walkee.  A 30 pack was $6 there was a $2 mail in rebate from Iron City and the 30 cans were worth $3 in turn in.  Total for a 30 pack.... $1, a stamp, and gas to the grocery store.  I would say twice but the recycling center was in the parking lot of the store and we would just walk into the store with our $3 to get more beer.
Does anyone know if Iron City is still in business?
I think it would be a better thread to see what people think is the worst cold beer.  Or if given one some would they drink it.
Over the past 20 years I have learned to go for Quality over quantity and a six pack in my fridge will last a while as i do not have to have a beer everyday but sometimes I will have three of four... Or those that know me.... More at one sitting.
