DNZ base and rings
« on: November 25, 2008, 02:15:28 AM »
Just by looking at pictures and considering previous experiences, it looks like the deadnutz DNZ mount would be my favorite for mounting a 40 or 42 mm scope on the T3. I have a question, though.
Does the receiver already have drilled and tapped holes? How do you mount that base?
Thanks.

The T3 is already drilled and tapped. There are 4 little grub screws on the top of the receiver. I have found it easier to scre them downwards, so take the bolt out first. Should they get stuck, they drill out really easily. The DNZ mount fits perfectly and just torque the sucker down.
You should have no problems at all and I predict a happy partnership between scope mount, rifle and yourself.

Thank you.
I have one more question. For a Zeiss Conquest 40-42 mm scope, which DedNutz mount do i need? low, medium, or high?
Thanks.

Been on a hunting trip the last 4 days. I have a Bushnell 6500 2.5/16*42 on my T3, 243. The DNZ mount is the low mount. So 42mm works with low.

I just ordered a medium DNZ mount for a 4-12x40MM Leupold VX-II. It is an AO scope though so the objective is a bit bigger than a non Ao would be. But.....should I call and change my order to a low set?

How big is the bell? My 42mm objective lense Bushnell is 50mm across ( outside diameter)  and clears the barrel with ease. Plenty of room for scope caps and a little daylight.

I called just now to change the order to the low ones, but the mediums have already shipped. I believe the lows would have worked. I can't see where my bell is even a full 50MM across, but I'll try the mediums and if they'll fit my eyes and shoulder hold, then I'll keep 'em.
I hate to pay for return shipping.  >:(

I have dnz lows on my 25/06 with a ziess 3x9x40 and Dnz meds on a 300wsm with a 3.5x10x50 ziess. Both work very well. I am a big fan of the dnz products. They are all that i use now.
