i see that a ruger #1 RSI international in 7X57 sold on gunbroker for $1,525.00. auction # 116218851. guess i'll have to find something else to hunt with. damn shame when your rifle becomes worth to much to hunt with.

LOL!  I have some pretty valuable guns, but I have yet to have one that I will not shoot.  If I am not going to shoot it, I would sell it.  Just me ;-)

WOW !!  Lurker, I haven't had any dealings with their customer support in over ten years, but my experience was vastly different.  They were extremely helpful and efficient in addressing my problem.  It's a real shame to hear that they have gone downhill in their attitude towards their customers.  I hope that you just caught someone on a bad day, because, like you, I have several Rugers; and I like them a lot.

I'm truly sorry to read that Lurker has had a bad experience with the Ruger factory folks.  I've never dealt with 'em, so I can't comment on how good or bad they are with customers.

I wonder why anyone would pay over $1500 for a used rifle when they can buy a brand new one just like it for a LOT less... like $800-$900 or so at a local gun shop?!?  Perhaps it was highly customized or engraved... or had a very expensive scope on it, eh?

Every time I have called Ruger I have spoke with knowledgable and friendle people... even when I sent them my No.1 in 6mmPPC and they lost it for a few months.... Darn, I thought I was getting a free new one that time.

You can hunt with an expensive rifle.  Question is, do you go thru nerve wracking trip after trip into the woods until you finally scratch it, or do you just say the hell with it, and go bust brushing, come what may?

To me, scratches and dings are memories of past hunts, and are carried proudly.  It's  just getting over that first one....lol

Its not worth that much by far, just someone not smart enough to buy one at a reasonable price.  The starting price of $850.00 was fair, people just kept bidding and someone got stuck with a rifle that's $395 over retail price.  Actually is kind of funny.

All Customer Service folks respond naturally on how they are being spoken too, can't blame them, just being human.  I have never had any problems with Ruger Customer Service and I am sure I never will.

  Sorry to hear that. I haven't had any dealings with Ruger, butthe one person I know that has dealt with them was unhappy as well. Now Chrysler, I am right there with you. They don't give a darn about customers. Might be why they want my tax money to bail them out.
