Duke trap spring strength

Is there a difference in spring strength between a Duke #1.75 and a #2 coilspring?

Just curious because I read on another post that they basically have the same jaw spread so I was wondering what the difference is between them.

I don't know why ole Thong Man hasn't replied to your post he'd be the guy to answer that question.   In all honesty I don't know.  Seems like the springs should be stronger but then again there isn't much difference in the jaws as you pointed out.  I don't know the history of the 1.75...is it a shrunk down #2 (smaller jaws and big springs) or a swelled up 1.5 (bigger jaws and wee springs)? :?   Maybe Steve or RdFx will know.

In a side-by-side comparison they both seem to be pretty close in spring strength. The new style Duke's are nice traps.

Mn., cur is right on, finally got some # 1 3/4s unloaded . It is almost impossible to tell if either is stronger than the other. Tom

Yes, the new duke is a nice trap- as was the old duke. I use a lot of both, and see no difference in success rates and overall performance.

I have some duke 1.75 have been using for over a decade w/o changing springs- still hold yotes just fine (I should add my yote traps are for the most part only used during my 5-6 week coyote season.)

Steve do you run any of the old square style duke 1 3/4 ? I still have a dozen or so from my original purchase when they first came out with duke brand . Sure would like a bunch more of them .
