For me I'll be getting a Optima Elite 50/270 combo and an additional 223 or 22-250 bull barrel. Barrels run aroune 199

I was hot for a kp1 and like to have never found one and when i did i was not impressed at the workmanship to say the least. The write up and ads made it sound great but when i finally had my hands on one it was a big let down. I have and would go for the encore as there are lots of barrels and things on the forum and it is a well made quality American product with lifetime warranty. The optima elite is also nice. Barrel prices run any where from 125.00 up to 275.00 depending on style and cal. for the encore.

How much do you want to spend?  If money is no object, you aren't going to beat the Encore.  I don't care what anyone says.

If money's tight, you can get an Optima Elite with a couple of extra barrels for the same price as an Encore with 1 barrel.  I've seen blued OE in 45-70 for as little as $225 brand new.  New factory Encore barrels usually cost at least that much, if not more.  Something to consider.

Haven't seen the Knight yet, I want to, but no one around here's got one, and I haven't seen enough feedback one way or the other to break down and order one.  It seems that you either love it or hate it, no in-between on it.

I just received my KP1 stainless/composite in .270 winchester.  To say I'm pleased is an understatement.  The fit/finished is very nice....exceeded expectations and well worth the money paid IMO.  Very impressed with the bbl lock-up and trigger.......the trigger is REALLY nice with feel as good as that on my well-adjusted SAKO bolt guns.

Other noteworthy features include:  supplied integral hammer extension, simple pull-out extractor and very nicely engineered hanger system for the forend.  At this point I couldn't be happier with the "bang for the buck."  Can't wait to shoot it.....and hope it shoots as well as it's engineered and put together.
hkg3k.........machineguns, my other addiction.
