USH no longer a virgin
« on: November 27, 2008, 03:19:01 PM »
I have been carrying this ultra slug for 2 years. Have not had a shot while carrying it. Untill today.

Woke at 430am. Drank my coffee and read thru the Graybeard forums. Checked email. Went to the woods at 630. Watched my deer thru my Simmons 8 point scope from 645 until 700. Deer now at 65 yards. Squeezed the trigger, Lightfield Hybid did the rest. The deer expired 30 yards from my stand. Went got the truck loaded the deer. Home for coffee 730.

What a wonderful morning hunt :-*.

LOL, sorry forgot to finish the story.

Took him home showed off a little. Ran out the back door, to the woods behind the house. Set there set there for 3 hours, came home cleaned up. Went and had Turkey dinners with my wifes family and my family :)

Nice buck.

My 12ga USH is also still a virgin.  Been to second base at the range but...

It seems that they always appear when I have my 20ga.

I was deployed to Seneca Army Depot for a civil disturbance back in the 1980's that didn't aamount to anything but gave us alot of time to watch deer while standing guard and on patrol. That place was so thick with them it was crazy. We did a couple patrols in the good old hueys and the pilot was and old iet Nam vet that also hunted. He showed me an albino buck that would have definitley graced my wall. Protestors were a no show for the most part but I'll never forget the deer.

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun

We had a young man here in southern Indiana take an albino doe a couple years ago.  He caught loads of greif over it. But like many of us told him, Most of us would have shot her. There has been a few spotted over the last 10 years down here.
