Problems with mixing brass and nickel cases?
« on: November 28, 2008, 06:31:42 PM »
I loaded up a bunch of .357 this evening and only thought of this when I was finishing up. I looked at my box of 100 finished rounds and there were 5 or 6 nickel cases mixed in with all the other brass ones.

Should I avoid this? Will it cause any noticeable inconsistencies in the loads? I was thinking that perhaps one was harder and would take a bit more pressure to overcome the crimp or something.

For general plinking load I just load and shoot. I dont worry about brand or plating. Tom is right, load it, shoot it and have fun. ;D

For my hunting/full house/accuracy loads I will sort the brass and keep like brands together.

I don't like to shoot full house loads in nickle cases, They seam to split easier. but for anything lighter like wadcutters I don;t worry about it just load and shoot.
