Handi Rifle on TV
« on: November 29, 2008, 03:30:51 AM »
Was Watching Southern Woods and water TV. They had some young men deer and hog hunting. I believe they were 11 12 years old. They were using a H&R with plastic stocks & scope. Took some nice does and a young buck, and one pig. Woo Hoo the handis are on a roll.

Unlike so many shows I have seen lately, the boys had excellent shot placement. Great job.

A Sportster was used on a recent episode of Time Warp too. ;)

I have often heard the uninformed refer to the venerable old 30-06, as a 306.  They seem to miss something in the translation or they think the speaker is stuttering and only meant to say one 0.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Don't you know it's "hillbilly" to say "ought"   ::)    ;)

It's genuine "hillbilly" to say "nought" for zero.

I saw one tonight where a young kid shot a very respectable buck with a handi. It was synthetic and "looked" to be an '06 as well.

The buck was chasing a hot doe all around in front of tem, finally slowing enough for a 50yard shot. He shot the buck as it was about to mount (At least was getting a good sniff ::) ) the doe. Bang flop. Not the best shot angle, at least what the camera had, but it worked quite well. ;D

It was one excited kid and dad, at one point dad had the kid beat with the excitement factor!!
