Pro Hunter...'waterproof-ness'?

Hi,

I know the barrel, and receiver area are stainless but how about the action inside?  I haven't taken it apart for fear of having parts leftover.   I wouldn't be leaving it outside, in the rain but....if you were to be out all day and your camp is a tent what precautions would you take against rust?     

How maintenance free is this gun?

Anybody had any rust issues?    (sometimes "stainless" steel isn't so stainless)

I have a regular stainless encore and it rusts a lot. There is often rust around the extractor, breech face and under the forearm. It cleans up pretty easily but it is a bit of a pain especially since most people buy SS because of its "waterproof-ness". To answer your question though If hunting in the rain I would definitely give it a good cleaning and oiling after you get home. During the hunt just wipe and spray whatever you can reach.

My experience is similar to 10pt's, you need to keep them clean, particularly if using BP, Pyrodex or T7 in a muzzleloader.  After 2 day's in the rain my buddys stainless ML was oozing rust out of the frame.  I use a good paste wax on everything I can coat and that works pretty well.  I also am using BH209 powder now and it's less of a problem, you just need to keep it wiped down.
