Nosler 30 cal bullets for 308
« on: November 30, 2008, 10:37:44 AM »
I have a few boxes of Nosler Combined Tech Ballistic Silvertip and Nosler AccuBond bullets.  All are 150 grain in 30 caliber.  I once loaded them in 300WSM for a combo hunt out west.

How would they do in my 308 Mod 7 on deer size game in NC?  What is unique about each.  Our deer do not require premium bullets, but these are already paid for.  I'm normally a Sierra GameKing kind of guy.

There are some that will say that they are bad bullets, but I use the 150 gr. Ballistic Silvertips in my 7mm Rem mag with excellent results for white tails here in Alabama.

I too am a Gameking user, but I got these at a good price and am extremely happy with them.

The Accubonds are a pricey bullet to be sure, but my son uses them in his .308 with success.

I don't see why they would not work, but as you said, they are not needed for deer out of a 308 IMO

Charles P,

The bullets you mention are probably better suited for the 308 than a 300 magnum, I have owned and shot both with various bullets.
