Alliant Listing Speer Data
« on: November 30, 2008, 03:26:17 PM »
I'm not certain when this happened or if it has been discussed here before (forgive me if it has), but Alliant is now listing data developed by Speer.  Looking at their .257 Weatherby, .338 Federal, .444 Marlin, .45-70 and other data under the "News and Announcements" section of the website, they acknowledge it as "Speer Data".  Probably not surprising since both companies are now owned by ATK, but interesting that they are not using their existing ballistics lab....

And particularly interesting now since Speer #14 lists loads for the .357 Magnum with 125-grain bullets and BlueDot.  And they list loads for the .41 Magnum and BlueDot with all their bullets.....   ;)

RE Speer #14 - I just went thru a number of my manuals and crossed out Blue Dot in the 41 mag  and 357 /125 gr pages - noting Alliant's warning. In case sometime in the future these manuals find a new home.
