« on: November 30, 2008, 07:43:08 PM »
i was looking a new USH in 12ga the other day and was thinking of buyin it.price was $210 out the door.should i buy it or send my SB1 in and have a 20ga USH barrel fitted to it?does the 20ga perform well compared to the 12ga?i've always shot the 12ga and never fooled around much with the 20ga.

I have the USH 20. I had it fitted to a SB1 receiver. I absolutely love it. Now I am biased, I took an 8 point a week ago. He was at 65 yards. Using light fields, went thru both shoulders. It has virtually no kick.

I have always used a 12 gauge pump, but I think that is now changed.

I have not shot the USH in a 12. I heard it kicks like a mule with 3" shells, so I stayed away. I am now glad I did. There are several USH 12 users on the sight, they will be here shortly. Please enjoy the music while you Waite ;D

I am going to purchase the 12 GA heavy barrel over the the 20GA from what i herd and read from post on the Question i put out there i think on page two of this page. the 12 is more accurate than the the 20 stock feels fat in my hand so i tried the thumb hole mod. and fell in love 317. out the door 214.for the basic mod. With the heavy barrel you should not get that much kick as a light one but i am talking about a 2 7/8 shell . but you should read more on other users advice the weapon will still be there when you make up your mind !

Where do you find them? Are they a custom round?

my 20ga took down a doe at 138 yards the other night.  i like the hornady sst.  don't group as good as lightfileds; however, performance has been better.
