Karl,

Welcome Back!

those are some good looking cannon! In the first photo is that a recessed steel sleeve I'm seeing at the muzzle?

You should submit some of these when the time comes  for the 2010 calender, nice photo's

Those are some very great looking cannons. The mortar, too. Has the government down there placed any restrictions
on the owning and firing of BP cannons and mortars?

Karl,
When is there a cannon shoot at Ripley?  I just moved out of Brisbane and am now based near Laidley.  So Ripley will be my local range.  PM me if you like, can't let something this good be happening near my place and not get involved.

regards

In my home state Queensland you can't have a cannon with a bore larger than 2 inches and a barrel longer than 48 inches. As we wanted a full scale external piece we went with the Mountain Howitzer rather than a scaled 6 pounder or something similar.

Aussie BP Power! Good looking pieces, guys! Thanks for the pics. Is the bore of the Mortar kind of small on purpose? From all the heavy metal around it, it looks like it could have been twice as large, and still have been safe. Just wondering! BoomLover

2 inches is the max we can go for cannon or mortar bore size. So I like full size external with a 2 inch bore. Karl
