works for me ;)

Not a fair question Lil Hunter.   :D

I hunt a 900 acre lease with 8 other guys and we each have our own little shack at the camp ground and most everyone shows up for the Friday evening hunt and stays until mid-day Sunday.

Last week end I hunted Friday evening from a ladder stand in thick woods with a Great Plains .54 flintlock with a Lyman peep sight and patched ball.  Saturday morning I hunted over a long narrow 1/2 acre food plot (150 yards to the back tree line) with a .50 Lyman Mustang with a 3 x 9 Leupold scope and 300 grain Gold Dots over Triple 7.  Saturday evening over a small round 1/3 acre plot with an Iron sighted .58 Zouave and patched ball.  Sunday morning I was back on the 1/2 acre plot with the Mustang.  Makes life interesting.   :D :D

the cva i tried to do some home smithing and now the hammer wont even lock back now. the spring field needs a good cleaning to start with but since i have alot of guns for some reason i havent cleaned it thoroughly lately. but when i last tried to shoot it it misfired alot. and i had to remove the nipple and put powder in there to get it to go off.

Omega thumbhole (bedded, pillared, floated) with Barska tactical scope (when the POS dies I'll spring for a $500 tactical to replace it), Burris Signature rings

110gr FFg 777 and 200 Shockwave at 2100 fps

Sub MOA to MOA to 400 yds

OR

Omega X7 with original peeps, with either 300gr bonded SW over 120gr 777 or 200gr SW over 110gr 777 depending what it is sighted in for at the time.

Its what it does that counts!  I'm thinking of doing the same thing.  I just can't get myself to spend $650 on a rifle I will only shoot 10-15 times a year.

I'm thinking of a used CVA Optima 45 cal or a new Wolf in 50 cal.

ive had great luck out of the staghorn one can go to almost any pawn shop and pick one up for 50 or 75 bucks put a descent scope and mount on it and you got a great shooting rifle. the open sights are junk thats all can be said for them i couldnt get a descent bit of accuracy from them for it.

T/C Prohunter Camo/stainless.  I added a peep sights (Williams, I believe), factory front sight.  90 gr. 777 and 250 gr. Shockwave.  This is my first year muzzleloading.  Took a little 5 pt buck this morning.   :)   Been wanting to try ML hunting for probably ten years, finally got around to it and now I'm really hooked.

Stainless Encore 50 cal. trigger job by SSK. Nikon Pro-staff 2-7 with T/C  quik detach mounts. After several years of using 100gr loose T7 and 240 gr XTPs I switched to 110gr BH209 and 240gr SSTs.
