Arisaka 38, 257 Roberts Load Development
« on: December 02, 2008, 07:33:18 PM »
I went to the range with Barnes 100 grain TSX with IMR 4895 powder and Imr 4895 powder. I got the best group out of the 4895 powder and that group was 2 1/2". The 4831 shot very poorly. I need to try different bullets and powders. Does anyone have a good recipe I might try? I'm thinking my rifle didn't like the TSX pellets and I'll try some convential leaded bullets like partitions. I might  also try a heavier bullet. Any suggestions from the reloaders on this forum will be appreciated.

The A38 dosen't like light bullets.  When I was reloading for it about 120 gr bullets were the lightest that would shoot well, try heavier bullets and you should find that it'll shoot well. You may have to play with it a little, but that's the fun.

Thanks for the feedback Bif Dog454, I'll try some 120 grain partitions.
