Bannanas, potasium for leg cramps. Drink more fluids if any other muscle besides calf.

I haven't heard of putting it in the bed. I did have to wash my mouth out with soap once for cussing while I was having cramps. ;D

I think you are kidding yourself if you believe there was any causal effect between soap in your bed and cramps going away. Leg cramps or foot cramps are most often a sign of low potassium or low body fluid levels and taking potassium or drinking more water is the usual cure. Bananas are high in potassium.

Bananas, orange juice or tomatoes/ tomatoes juice all have potassium. Use what's most convenient.

Wife gets foot cramps a lot. They seem to plague her mostly at night, but if she gets up and eats a spoonfull of mustard, they stop. 'course she likes mustard. I'd prefer the cramps.

Maybe eating plain mustard is so bad you forget you have cramps.

GatorAid and bananas are what works for me. I mow a lot of yards during the warmer months. Eating a banana or 2, if I'm just drinking water is okay. Sucking down the GatorAid works best.

I got horrendous thigh cramps for years which was triggered by working off a ladder or too many stairs in a day. I was a contractor so avoiding ladders was avoiding a paycheck. My doctor told me to take 100 mg potasium and 500 mg magnesium after supper. After a week the cramps were gone and haven't returned.

YEA the potasium pills are the best, take them every night, don't have to
worry about Bananas and such.
Are you sure that pickle juice is what Roman soldiers carried in those canteens?

If you're on a low-salt diet, it can also cause cramps due to a lack of iodine that we usually get from iodized salt.  I had bad leg cramps in boot camp and one of the D.I.s told me to put some extra salt on my food and they went away.

Eat a couple Tums with calcium.
The cramps will go away within a few minutes.

Dill pickle juice works good for acid indigestion and hangover.

When you sweat during the day you excrete salt. To stabilize body chemistry your body will take salt from muscle. The largest muscles are in the legs and therefore leg cramping is common. You can either ingest salt or as stated Potassium to stabilize the body chemistry and prevent leg cramping.

I know a Doctor (a very old Doctor) that told me to do so and it worked for me. He told me to Grate it under the sheets. He could not explain why it works.  It did For me! so maybe I'm crazy ;)   When I get cramps i also rub soap on my leg and it almost always goes Right away. Why it works, who knows but it does.

I had a colonoscopy a couple of weeks ago and picked up a couple of quarts of Gatorade to rehydrate.......whammo....end of leg and  hand cramps.  I find a half quart or so a day keeps them away.  It works better than the quinine sulfate and bannanas I took before the FDA got it off the market.

When I have a problem with low blood sugar I get severe leg cramps.
To cure the problem I take a couple of pieces of hard candy like "Werthers" butterscotch and the cramps are gone within 10 minutes.
 Works for me.
