Checking local prices
« on: December 03, 2008, 02:18:25 PM »

I went to my local gun shop last Saturday to see what he could order me a rimfire Handi for. He quoted me a price offhand of $189. that sounded a little high so I told him to look around. he hasn't called me back so this evening I called Dick's Sporting Goods. they priced it at $129 for the LR and $139 for the Magnum. I was wondering what these are going for in different locals?

Wally World is a last resort as their stores are stopping the sale of guns one by one so that will mean a trip as well.

My local BiMart has the 17hmr Sportster for $140, it's been on sale for $120 a couple times in the last year.

I went to Dick's today. It was $120 for the LR and $140 for the .17 HMR.

I had to wait on them to call me back because they were so busy. I'll go back tomorrow and place the order. Hopefully they still have them.

Update... Went down and ordered them today. They'll get them from Jerry's. They say the guns have to go from Jerry's to their warehouse in Atlanta and then from the warehouse in Atlanta to the store here in Fla. It seems like the long way to do it to me.

Oh well, maybe in a month or so I'll have settled down. They say to allow 4-6 weeks.

The 22Lr Sportster sells for less than the 17hmr since it's not a bull barrel, it sells for $90-$110 here.
