Marlin 917V trigger swap
« on: December 04, 2008, 12:06:35 PM »
New member here, with my first post.Could some one tell me if the trigger and sear from a Marlin 17V can be put in a Marlin 917V. Numrich has the sear and trigger for the 17V,but don't seem to offer them for the 917V.The 917 that I have is new and has what seems to be is a plastic trigger and aluminum sear. Thanks for any help,Jim ???

The 917V has a different trigger than the 17V. Do the pen spring trigger or as I did, install the Rifle Basix adjustable trigger, see the sticky at RFC for the trigger work.

I used a Rifle Basix trigger group in a Savage and it now has an outstanding trigger.

I added a couple of .50 cent brass shims and made a lighter spring and my Savage has a great trigger too!

No need to replace it, you can fix it.
