Pre 64 Model 70 question

Did Winchester drill and tap pre 64 Model 70s on top for scope bases and for receiver sight on side in 1952?
Also, did they come from the factory with sling swivels (non-detachable)?

bluesman,
Yes, a Model 70 that shipped in '52 should have both receiver bridges tapped, it should also have to the two small holes on the side for a receiver sight. The standard grades should have two non-removable sling swivels.
