Magellan Explorist 300 GPS Question
« on: December 07, 2008, 04:11:41 AM »
I obtained some good Hog Hunting Lat/Long positions from Google Earth, and wanted to manually enter them in my Explorist 300. I tried every menu on the unit, and completely scoured the operating manual, but it looks like you can only enter a position you are physically at using the "MARK" function button on the unit's face. Anyone know of another entry method? Thanks!

I am sure there are some Explorist users out there that can and will correct me.  I am not a Magellan user but you might try this.

Create a point of interest at your current location by pressing MARK.

You then edit the new position by using the Arrow joystick to highlight the field you want to change.

When you have the Location field highlighted press enter and see if you get a box that allows you to enter a new lat/long.  Page 26 of your manual gives you a hint on personalizing a point of interest.

I'll give it a try, but I only got a trifold card for operating instructions. Nothing even close to 26 pages.
Thanks!
