Yes, all production and barrel fitting is done at the new H&R facility in the Remington Ilion plant in NY, there has always been an occasional barrel that didn't get fitted properly even by Gardner, with the new equipment in the Ilion plant, that shouldn't happen anymore, there were problems happened during the transition, hopefully they've got quality control in check now. Even if they fit one poorly, they've always fixed them free of charge to include shipping.
As for Ilion manufactured firearms, we won't know until we see one that's engraved Made in Ilion NY instead of Gardner MA, you can't tell by the serial number prefix as it only tells the year.
