Haven't used the Hornady but have used just about everyone else's , for un-gas checked lead bullets Unique is what I use the most of , fallowed by Trail Boss .

For a bullet with a GC the nod goes to H110 or IMR4227 , both do very well at the upper levels of FPS for these 2 rounds .

Be aware the Hornady and Speer lead bullets are NOT cast and are NOT hard. They are pure lead swaged bullets and you do not want to run them fast. These are intended for CAS level velocity only. Push them with Unique and you'll likely lead the barrel horribily. Bullseye or some other powder intended for soft lead is the way to go.

I really like the Hornady lead wc for my 38/357. I have used Bulls Eye, Red Dot, Green Dot, Unique, and I think Win super Target.  Like GB says, I run them very light and they are accurate. I use them for small game too. Think I took one grouse by bouncing the bullet off its back. Never found a bullet hole, just a broken back. I've tried the 140 gr cowboy bullets and they are ok but I think I prefer the SWC 158 and WC bullets better. No leading with proper loads. Much better luck than I have had with Speer swaged WC's.

+1  I bought a hundred and ran some through my 2 inch 44 mag with enough Unique to get them up around 850 fps.  The barrel leaded badly.  The accuracy was pretty good... if I had been shooting buckshot from a shotgun at 50 yards!   ::)  The rest of them went into my pure lead stash and will become round balls for my ML's.  :(

Well I loaded up some Hornady 158gr .358 Lead Round noses Using Unique. At a Velocity of about 750 fps.  No Leading and very accurate.  50 rounds hit a 8" Plate @ 50 yards free hand from my GP100. I think I found My new plinking load. Cheep and Fun!

Greybeard , Please forgive my ignorance , But what are CAS Loads??

I too am a fan of Unique.  I have a lot of 38s and 357s loaded up with light loads.  The hornady 148 grain HBWC loaded backward with the cavity pointing out is accurate and brutal on close in varmints.
