Western Rivers Nite Stalker Review
« on: December 08, 2008, 07:45:03 AM »
I have received several inquiries about the Nite Stalker Caller and have just completed the review, which is posted in the Product Discussion forum http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,158453.0.html

Did it call in any Coyotes?  Did you shoot them?  For $500.00 I would like to see some pictures.  Larry

Larry
it has called hogs, coyotes, and raccoon.  The focus of the review was more on the caller not my calling or hunting ability.   The Nite Stalker is one of the least expensive models of the latest generation of callers.  I believe Western Rivers makes q caller for under $200.

Please note: "great or expensive equipment does not make a hunter great.  A great hunter is great regardless of the equipment."

I typically do not take pictures of coyotes, raccoons, hogs and deer.  However, I am going to try to make time to go hog hunting this week, if I do I will gladly send you the kill shots.  Before Christmas I do need to go out and thin the coyotes, I will gladly send you those kill shots as well.  Please IM m your email so I can send you the pictures.

Need not take things so literal, the review is well done, but it reminds me of the gun mag reviews which are on a page facing a full page color paid advertisement for the item being reviewed.  I would be very interested in how well it preformed as opposed to how the remote felt in my hand if I were in the market for a $500.00 Coyote call, thus the question of how many it called in and if it worked well enough for you to kill one.  For me, with any gear, the function is more important than how it feels, (unless it is a Jock Strap), a good looking Coyote call really doesn't count for squat if it doesn't do what you buy it to do, there is no mention in the article of how it worked for it's intended purpose, thus the comment of seeing some pictures, it would be just fine for you to describe it's performance in your literary elegance.  Larry

Based on my comments in a previous post, how do you measure the effectiveness of a caller when there are many  variables that influence the results?

To be very clear, I purchased the Nite Stalker.

If I were to review a product I would compare it to something that everyone knows about.  Probably I would try calling in a few Coyotes with my $3.00 mouth call, then the $500.00 electric call.  If the electric call called in $500 worth of Coyotes then I would say it is a winner, I usually get at least $3.00 worth of Coyotes with my mouth call.   Anyone else out there ever tested different calls?   Larry
