rem. 700 trigger

When the saftey was taken off the gun fired, the gun is a mod. 700 bdl LEFT hand and has the old saftey where the bolt can't be opened while the gun is on safe. the trigger is the same as it came from the factory it has never been adjusted, also it was cold outside below 25 degrees. How can I find out if there is a recall on these triggers or how to correct this problem.
