Trigger Job????
« on: December 10, 2008, 11:40:58 AM »
I just recently added a 300 WM Prohunter barrel to my setup.  I able to shoot 150 grain corelokts at moa with the factory trigger.  I am looking to have a trigger job done becuase I know it will do better.  Any advice on who does a good trigger job on the Encore?

Jim Henry is the TC man of all TC men and is in Barstow, CA.   If his health is still allowing him to do work on the TC's, the work is at give away prices to boot.   He fine tuned all of my frames and improved them greatly over the previous TJ's I had done by other smiths.   Nobody but Jim touches any of my TC's anymore.   He should be in the book with a simple Internet search.   If not, I have his contact info in my card file I'll send you via PM if needed.

PM's sent for Jim.

My history with the Stratton's goes back to their TC training days working at Bullberry and on into starting VVCG, both before MGM and SC when I often stopped in to visit with them in the shops.   Sorry, but the most poorly and dangerously done trigger job I ever had on a Contender was a brand new frame bought from them with the trigger job included sometime after they opened VVCG.   Luckily it had a factory problem discovered as soon as I got it that made it unfirable (Jim Henry and I personally delivered that frame to Tim P. from TC at the next SHOT Show BTW for complete factory rebuild).  While I called Steve and his boys friends all the years I lived in Southern Utah, that ended my trust in their work for good.   Enough said.

When I bought my Encore used the trigger was already done by SSK. It is excellent!

I needed a trigger job on my new Encore pistol. A Friend recomended James Henry of Barsto Calif. I sent him my frame and he set the trigger to my specs. I love it. My groups shrank right away and now it is fun to shoot. Jim is a fine gentleman and he will share information with you as well. He will not only get it done quickly but done right! I have him on speed dial for when I get my next frame  8)

I bought an action kit from Mike B that came with all springs including the triiger group. Installed it myself in about a half hour. I bought the 3 lb trigger kit (they have others) and it's perfect.

I did my own trigger job with a $6 spring that I ordered from MIke Bellm. He even has a compleate set of instructions on how to do it. I think it took my about an hour or so to do and I'm very happy with it. [url]http://www.bellmtcs.com/store/index.php

The censored one's name is not allowed on this site.  He treated Bill poorly and as a result his name is used here.  If you need to know more search the posts on both TC sites and you will get more information.
