Honda 300 TRX
« on: December 10, 2008, 03:36:33 PM »
I've got a low mileage Honda 300 that is now 19 years old and runs like a sewing machine.  Last year at hunting camp, someone had a Honda that was running rough and they switched spark plugs with mine.  I forgot it until this year when mine would not run with the choke off.  Went to NAPA and got a spray can of carb cleaner and a new plug.  Tried the plug first.  BINGO!  Nothing else to do.  The carb has never been off in 19 years and it's still perfect.  I use Sea Foam in my fuel tank.

Wouldn't it be great to buy a car that gave this kind of service after sitting idle in a shed for 10 months per year.

my dads got one just like it about the same vintage and his runs just as well. I think the only thing that was ever replaced was the starter.

I sure love my '90.   It has some extra 'goodies' on it.

Yes sir it would be good.  Very impressive.  I do wonder why auto makers can't make cars and trucks that last as long.  Although most cars and trucks see way more use than most ATV's.   And they want a government bailout...  :-\

An older friend of mine has a red 1991 300. Still runs good..........even after a couple of my other friends borrowed it and took it for an unintentional swim a couple of years ago.

I love those old 300 TRX's , mine was a 92 with alot of deep water swamp miles. Only problem I ever had and it was my fault was the front wheel bearings last about 2 years ridin water . Awesome bikes and regret selling mine .

I had a 99 300 4x4 and man that thing was bulletproof!!  I also wish I didnt sell mine but got lured in by bigger smoother riding machines.
