I bought 2 of these scopes last year. One on a 243 handi one on a marlin 30/30. They are junk optical clarity is awful. Warning stay away from barska. I had to learn the hard way. Get a bushnell or a mueller. I have no experiance with the latter but Tim recommends them a lot and he knows

Kind of surprised at the answers.  I have a 4x32 on a 22 and it is nice and clear, don't know how anything could look any better, it holds zero and works.  I also have a 3-9X40 on a 17 Remington FB and it is also nice and clear, no shift in POA with the zoom, just no complaints at all.  The way they are built they fit a H&R Handi rifle very well, the hammer falls perfectly to miss the power ring, works will medium rings.  I may have gotten the only two good ones in the free world.  The higher power scopes may be different, but the 4X and 3-9X are just excellent.  Larry

I've never owned one, but I compared the 3-9x40 Barska, Burris, Nikon, and Leupold VXII side-by-side at the local sporting goods store when I was looking for a replacement scope for my .30-06.  I have to say, if you don't know how anything could look better, you haven't looked through good glass.  The Barska was the worst by far - so bad I had them un-box another one in case the display model was bad.  Sure, in good light and good conditions the Barska was OK, but nowhere near as nice as the others.  the difference was especially noticeable the farther away from the center of the lens you got, and the lower the lighting.
