A NEW MEMBER OF THE FAMILY
« on: December 13, 2008, 09:41:59 AM »
Last Saturday,we added a new member to our family. He is 3 years old and weighs between 70 and 80 pounds.
Last spring when our cocker died at age 13, my wife said we would never get another dog.I am sure you guys have all heard that one.Our cocker had been my wifes constant companion and body guard.Well our new lab has taken over where our cocker left off. A well behaved ,lovable guardian for my wife. He has taken to our place without a hitch.

Tom
I've had labs here since I got out of high school. My son has a black lab that just turned 2 and she is just a sweet heart. All our labs have had very different personalities, but the boys is just plan a card. Lovable to have around the house and a work horse in the duck marsh.
Our two oldest ones are yellow sisters and are 10 years old soon to be 11. One is my wife's dog and is still a hipper nut case at 10, won't sit still and drives me crazy. The other is my daughters dog and is obsessed with balls and will chase one till you lock her up or she or you wear out playing.
I myself have been dogless since I put my old black down few years back.
My son says he is going to breed his dog and I have to take a pup for myself. I told him I'm not having another dog till the older ones here are gone. Guess we'll see???
If anyone needs dog hair I have plenty here in the house.
Just remember to wipe your feet when you leave. I don't want any of my dirt and dog hair going outside to mess things up LOL.

Congratulations on a great choice! Maria and I are Lab people all of the way. We have a seven year yellow Lab male now, weighs about 130 lbs. Had a black Lab before that and another yellow before the black. Labs are truly part of the family in every way. Only problem is they never live long enough. Asa

Its been a week and a half now, I can't believe how well the dog has adapted. He seems happy and content, I was afraid he would miss the kids, but he gets constant attention and love ,and thats all he wants--other than food  lol.
The cold and snow have cut down on the outside play, but he brings his goobered up big ball, and drops it in my lap. My wife must have hit me a dozen times yesterday while throwing for the dog.I sure hope her throwing skills improve.
Its good to have a dog again, these last 7 months have been awful quiet, without one.

Good choice Tom. We are a "lab family". Maria and I, as well as both of my brothers have labs. My yellow, Bear (8), is spoiled rotten. But he's still a hunting machine. Dini (13) is retired, but still loves to hang out and EAT. She was born in my living room. Her mom, Ty, was the best lab I ever had.

This is Bear, relaxing.
