Need help with Mueller APV?? Hunted in Rain/Have Problems
« on: December 13, 2008, 12:00:20 PM »
I have a Mueller APV I bought last year.  I adjusted the eye relief on this scope as per the instructions and now the whole scope is foggy. I didn't back the eye piece off very far at all.  It was about the length of a thumb nail; 45 minutes later I climb up in my stand and I can't see anything through it.   I've had the scope mounted on my rifle for almost a year. It was a very clear scope for the money I spent on it. I've looked all over for the original receipt, but no luck. I have the receipt for a multi-shot I bought about the same time. Will the warranty still be good? How strict are they on the original receipt???  I have the original box and warranty card.  I need some help as this was my favorite rifle.  Now it's parked until I get this scope fixed.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found the problem. It had nothing to do with the eye piece adjustment.  I hunted yesterday in the rain and the scope has water vapor under the front lens. It was the first time I ever hunted with that gun in the rain. I guess the scope wasn't water proof from the factory. I didn't notice it with the strong lights in the house.  It was not until dusk that I knew there was a problem. The scope must have been leaky for some time.  I hope Mueller will take care of it.
