Newbie forend question
« on: December 14, 2008, 06:00:54 AM »
I'm looking to spruce up a couple of my handis, but have a question about forends; I know what factory and mannlicher look like, but they also seem to come in sportser, schnable, target/varmint, and I've seen reference to beavertail.  Just what do these look like?  If reference is in FAQ's I missed it.

Thanks,

Manion

The Sportster uses the same synthetic stock set as the Handi, here's a Scnable which are no longer made, but common.

The Target/Varmint is made by GSI.. http://www.gunstocksinc.com/web_pages/Plate-pics/NEF-stocks/Handi-rifle-stocks.htm

I'll leave the beavertail to someone else, I've seen it used before too, I think they mean the standard Handi/Ultra style forend which doesn't look like any beavertail I've ever seen!! ;D

Thanks, Tim.  Now, I assume the buffalo classic stocks will bolt on to most handi's?

All H&R single shot stocks will fit all SS1, SB1 and SB2 frames except for some forends, some require a different stock bolt tho.  ;)

Tim - I know I'm not talking about a forearm but I love the look of that straight stock.  Did that come standard?

He did at that.  I've cut a straight stock before using a shotgun stock and forearm and it is really nice but it doesn't have the finish yours does.
