Lee Mold ?
« on: December 14, 2008, 08:06:42 AM »
Hi all,
I was on Ebay looking for some molds to make Glulets
and found a pair of Lee mold that the saler said is part # 90314.
and thought they were 7MM molds.
I went to Lee's web site and could not find that #
Maybe they are discontinued?
can anyone tell me what the molds are?
Thanks,
Mike

Just a guess on my part, as I know -0- about casting bullets...

Based on the part number series in the LEE catalog, all the numbers 90312, 90315, 90316 etc. are all 358 calibers.

We all know what assuming can do tho!  ;D

90314 GAUGE/HOLDER_7MM_WSM $4.98

That's what I found on the website.. Went to the shopping cart, typed in the number that you posted and a quantity, and poof! there was what it said.... May not be the answer you were looking for, but hey, I tried...

I don't think the Lee numbers follow much of any progression. If you don't find one on their site with that number it's a total shot in the dark what it might be. My list doesn't show it either. Likely an older discontinued mould. BTW what the heck is a "Glulets". Ain't nerry heard of that one before.

I have the Lee 90360 which is a 130 grain 7mm bullet and I think the only 7mm mould Lee makes or at least it's the only one I've seen. It makes pretty good bullets but a bit light for me for cast bullets. I got it back when I was fire forming 7-30 Waters and 7 TCU cases to save money on bullets for fire forming. Some day I'll give it a try and see how it works in a 7-08.

Stimpy got me (us) all fired up about making our own practice bullets by shooting hot glue into a mould.  Somebody said they called them "glulets" over on the cast bullet forum I believe.   :D  Why not?   ;D

As stated above, 90314 is a case length trimmer.

Looking at the pics, they appear to me to be wad cutter molds.  Doesn't look anything like a pointy 7mm bullet.

Proceed with caution.
