375 Super Mag.
« on: December 15, 2008, 05:15:08 AM »
First I would like to thank you for your time sharing your knowledge and an excellent product. I have a number of your molds and am very satisfied with the accuracy and performance of your bullets.

My question is I am ordering a four cavity mold for use in two different 375 super mag's, a Dan Wesson 8" and a United Sporting Arms 10.5". The bullet will be gas checked, primarily used for hunting, cast from lino and used at velocitied of 1200-1600. I was thinking of a 225 to 250 WFN but was wondering what you would reccommend as to weigh, nose configuration, nose length, diameter etc?

Thank you.

Due to the caliber and desire to shoot at less than maximum speed, and need to keep the meplat large, get either a WFN or WLN.  Either weight you have named is good.  25 grains is only 11% of 225.  It won't create a stir either way, so pick the weight that 'feels' right when you say it.  If you are like me, and most every one, certain numbers do certain things in our minds, and bring confidence or damage it.  In other words with these two weights your advantage is mental, and real, and important.
