For some crazy reason my wife just doesn't get excited about target pistols, hunting handguns, shotguns, or fishing tackle. But golly gee, if it has anything to do with good fabric she gets really excited. Oh well, wives have to be somewhat mysterious.
Anyway, the following are a few gifts that have gone over well in previous years. Maybe if you share your good ideas we can all serve our wives a bit better this holiday season.
1) Finely woven bed sheets (they are measured in weaves per inch, and the higher the number the better.) I have to admit they feel good too.
2) High quality towels.
3) A good terry cloth bathrobe
4) Really fine comfortable socks like SmartWool brand.
5) A good quality flashlight (like one of the new multi-LED jobs from Cabelas -- now your talkin' my langauge)
6) Rotary electric toothbrushes like the ones Crest sells for under $10. Very nice, really.
7) DVDs of romantic comedies (Like Doris Day and Rock Hudson movies)
New carpet
Interestingly the favorite gifts have been quite inexpensive (except for the carpet.) Of course this doesn't make her "cheap to keep". She'll say something like "we need a new washer and dryer" or "I need a new car" as if she expects me to dig in my pocket for change to pay for it.
