350 Rem Mag w/ 200gr lead and what powder? Trailboss maybe?
« on: December 16, 2008, 01:04:54 AM »
I have a new to me custom LH 350 Rem mag that my boys want to shoot and I am looking for a load using 200 grain lead bullets that i already have.   Full power loads are easy to find for jacketed bullets but a my 12 year is not ready for those.   Can you help me?

Thanks

Lyman (49th) has two for a 204 gr cast at 2.760 OAL w/ Rem 9 1/2.  Unique starting at 12.0 (1345 fps) to 17.0 (1675 fps - accuracy load) and SR-7625 (12.0 @ 1305 fps to 17.0 @ 1615 fps)

There's always reduced H4895 jacketed data too for any data in the Hodgdon 27th .  ;)

I'm going to stick my neck out a bit with this. I tried about 12 gr of Trail Boss in a 30-06 with a 200 gr. cast bullet in front. The rifle went BANG, the bullet departed and the case extracted just fine. From this I presume TB could be used in the 350 Rem as well without getting into trouble using C A S T  bullets!!.

im not a fan of trail boss. Its never given me good accuacy. Id play with 10 to 15 grains of unique and see where your gun shot the best.
