In a  round like a 30-30 308 243 3006 270 300 7mm mag what ever your deer hunting rounds what is the cost for you to reload 1 round!   Figure you had to buy new brass, bullets, primers, powder!Just the bigger hunting rounds please! I added it up one day and thought it was over $11 per 20 reloaded rounds on a 30-06! With your choice of bullet can really increase the cost per round! Lets here what it cost you per round! Thanks Dale

If you include the full cost of brass in the single unit, I can load a 30-30 170 CL for about the same as retail at Walmart.
But if you ammortize the brass over 7 to 10 loads I can make them for about 40 cents.
That would be 3c for the primer, 12c for 32.5 grains of Varget, 20c for the bullet (if I buy on sale) and 5c for the brass.
30-30 ammo is getting so cheap, it wouldn't be worth the effort to load just for hunting but I like to shoot and I load cast plinking rounds for half that cost.

I don't use new brass-all of mine have been reloaded many times! As long as it is with in specs there is no need to use only new brass! I load '06 and 8X57 mm for .30 cents or less depending on which bullet I use. For the '06 I bought four boxes 2 Winchester and 2 Rem  when I got my rifle in the 80's I'm still using that brass today! I've also have had some nice folks leave there '06 and 270 brass laying around to suplement my stash of brass I doupt I'll ever need to buy another peace in my life time! I did have to buy new 8 mm though as not many folks leave it laying about-but if need I can convert '06 or 270 to 8mm!

I only load handgun right now but never buy new brass. It's almost not worth it (to me anyway). I guess if you bought new brass once and then loaded it 7 - 10 times, or so, that would make more sense. When at the range I collect the brass that others throw away for any caliber rifle I have....for when I buy dies for those calibers. Most of it is new, once fired brass put right back in the box.

100 primers $2.50
100 .243 WSSM brass $57.00
100 100 grain Partitions $14.00
4800 grains H4831 $15.00

100 rounds = $88.50
$88.50 / 100 = $.885 each.
$.885 x 20 = $17.70 per normal box.
$.885 x 100 = $88.50 per Steve box.

Pretty cheap if you don't include shipping or price of reloading equipment.

so many variables.
i also pick up what i find that is once fired.  i dont buy brass, and never will.  so brass is free.   and i have more than i could ever use.
for the 270win     brass=free.   primer=$0.025    powder=$0.165      bullet=$0.22
i dont count the price of presses or tools are they are part of hobby and bought and paid for.
so for a 270 150 grain nosler ballistic tip, with cci magnum rifle primer and imr7828 powder clocked out of my gun @ 2890 fps, it costs me 41 cents a shot.; or $8.20 per 20.
there is a big advantage to shooting a caliber that many others shoot. do to the range the day before rifle season opener and you will have years worth of brass. sort through it, keep only the good stuff.  i prefer remington or winchester.  everything else gets tossed.
