Need help identifying antique auto pistol
« on: December 17, 2008, 03:38:17 PM »
My wife gave me an old model 32 auto pistol, stamped on the reciever is "The Infallible" Warner Arms Corp. Norwich CT U.S.A.. It has about a 3 inch barrel with ebony grips and a insignia saying WA, BLOCKS THE SEAR. I cannot find any serial numbers. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Warner Arms Corporation: Trade name used by the H. & 0 Folsom Arms Company on firearms made for the Kirtland Brothers, Inc. of New York.

From Oldguns.net    Nance- Davis-Warner was formed in 1916 with the acquisition of N.R. Davis by the Warner Arms Corporation, and they ceased to exist in 1930 when Savage bought them out. Many of their guns had names suggesting strength, safety, high quality, or the like, but in reality, they were all pretty basic guns of average quality. The marking "blocks the sear" refers to some sort of safety device to keep the sear from allowing the hammer to fall. (You really do not need to understand that, but the gun people will know what it means.) Collector value in this gun is probably very slight, with value to match. Shooters probably would not be interested, so value is mainly for sentimental, or decorative use.

Thanks Czech_too, I was suprised that the gun shot quite well, nothing to brag on but at least it functioned. It will go in the gun safe for my son.
