GRAB THE MARLIN! MY buddy has one and its a superb rifle. The tang safety is a unique and very practical twist. If T/C made them for Marlin , they would've bee smart to put that safety on the Black Diamonds. That being said , the Black Diamond is a great rifle.I love my Walnut/blued XR .50 and its extremely accurate and reliable. The QLA feature is like alot of things, folks swear by them or at them. Personally I like them as it adds a measure of protection to the actual crown and as my Black Diamond XR is a tight load , it makes that operation easier.I talked to a fella at T/C last week and he told me the Black Diamonds have been discontinued so grab one while you can.Dont worry about plunger fired inlines. The are fine rifles and if you can afford only one they are the one's to have. There are some states that do not allow closed breech or 209 fired inlines , so if you go for a break open or drop block...Anyway, assuming the Marlin is rust free its good but you couldnt go far wrong with either.
