horn, long chain beaver sets
« on: August 18, 2003, 05:29:32 PM »
horn, where you from man missouri lol.  an ol river rat taught me that set, if it`s the same one, awhile back.  he trapped the upper missouri river where the water moves up and down alot. he ran 10 foot of chain and let the beaver get up in the bushes, or tangle and drown.  mostly up in the bushes.  i would have never beleaved it but the set works great, all though a man can get a nasty otter bite with this set.

is this the same set your talking about horn???.....matt

I have been doing it for years using a tangle stick.  I have since stopped with the tangle stick.  Dale Billingsley does this alot and I learned a bunch at his demos,  I try to catch it everytime I can.   I very rarely drown a beaver any more.  Just give them plenty of chain (or cable)to drag around.
